Guépi通过装置，表演讲座和合作研究项目进行艺术创作，其作品中的各种档案资料被重新语境化。他的工作强调研究性且往往涉及知识生产中的历史轨迹，如考古学，人类学或物的历史书写。通过收集和转译物件，人工制品和故事，对其挪用和重构，他旨在展示这些系统中的支配结构，以及知识是如何通过象征性物被表现的。这项工作的核心是转译问题，特别是不同文化，科学，虚构和事实之间的知识沟通。本次讲座艺术家将展示他以往的一些项目，并将它们放到额外的、基于本次驻地经验和材料的语境中。

他的作品曾在阿姆斯特丹W139，巴黎ENSAPCYGREC，利默里克Ormston House Gallery和鹿特丹TENT展出，并在各种机构发表演讲。Guépin拥有Dutch Art Institute的硕士学位，他曾在布拉格Meetfactory和蒂尔堡LEOXIII参加过驻留项目。

Artist Talk by Yoeri Guépin

Institute For Provocationcordially invites you for an artist talk by our current artist in residenceYoeri Guépin.

Guépin works with installations,lecture-performances and (collaborative) research projects in which variousarchival materials are re-contextualized. His work hasa strong emphasis on research and often involves historical trajectories ofknowledge production such as archaeology, anthropology or the writing ofhistory through objects. Through collecting and translating objects, artifactsand stories, their appropriation and re-contextualization, he aims at showing thegoverning structures of these systems, and how knowledge is represented throughsymbolic objects. Central tohis work are questions of translation, in particular the communication ofknowledge between different cultures, sciences, fictions and facts. During thetalk the artist will screen and present some of his previous projects andcontextualizes with additional material.

His work has been exhibited atW139 Amsterdam, ENSAPC YGREC Paris, Ormston House Gallery Limerick and TENTRotterdam, and he has delivered lectures at a variety of institutes. Guépinholds an MA from the Dutch Art Institute, he has participated in residencies atMeetfactory Prague and LEOXIII Tilburg.
